About the Market

We are a volunteer-driven, community-based market partnered with Reliable Street (a 501c3 non-profit). Our mission is to provide the Ontario, Ames neighborhood with a monthly summer market, featuring local vendors, activities, free produce, entertainment, and a free meal. The market will take place the first Friday of June, July, and August 2024 at 4625 Reliable Street.

Many Ames residents reside in places without the means to grow their own food. With one in thirteen Iowans facing hunger, it is important for community members to lean on each other in times of need. Our market will feature a produce-sharing system, driven by our community. This means all produce provided through the Reliable Street Farmer’s Market will be free of charge. 

Most produce will be provided by the Reliable Street Collective Garden, coordinated by Ames High students and open to the public. Additional produce will be provided by local farmers, grocers, businesses and community members. You are welcome to share produce from your own gardens!
