Release Chaser — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
Release Chaser ("the extension") is developed by pebilext. This policy explains, in plain terms, what the extension does and does not do with data.
Short version: The extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no analytics. Everything you create stays on your own device.
1. Data stored on your device
The extension stores the following locally on your computer (in your browser's storage, and — for 3D figures — its local database):
- Your calendar: the games you add and their release dates
- Your notes, special events, and personal settings
- Optional 3D figure models that you choose to add
- Automatic local backups, kept on your device
This data never leaves your device except when you export a backup yourself, which is saved to your own Downloads folder. The developer cannot see any of it.
2. No tracking, no analytics, no accounts
The extension contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking of any kind. It creates no user, device, or installation identifier. You do not create an account or sign in.
3. Network requests
To do its job, the extension contacts the game services you use — Steam, the PlayStation Store, SteamDB, and IGDB — only to read PUBLIC game information (such as release dates, cover images, and genres) for games you choose to add or track. These are read-only requests sent directly from your browser to those services' own servers, and they contain no personal data of yours. (Your approximate region may be derived from your device's time zone and sent to Steam so prices display correctly; this is not stored.)
4. Optional Steam wishlist import
If you choose to use the wishlist-import feature, you provide your own PUBLIC Steam profile address. The extension sends this to Steam's own public API only to read your own public wishlist. This never requires your Steam password and does not sign in to your account — it only reads your public profile. Your profile address is stored locally on your device and can be removed at any time with a single click. This feature is optional and stays off until you turn it on.
5. Clipboard
The extension reads your clipboard only at the moment you paste inside the app, and only to detect a supported game-store link. It never monitors your clipboard in the background and never sends clipboard contents anywhere.
6. Data sharing and selling
The developer does not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any user data. There is no developer-operated server. Your data is not used for any purpose other than making the extension work for you, on your device.
7. Children's privacy
The extension is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
