So I have purchased the full version of BMT and I am getting some results to allow RBDJ to work with my VCI-100. By using the tool you recommended (Tobias Erichsen loopMidi -erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html) I can spoof RBDJ into thinking my VCI-100 is a Pioneer Controller (DDJ-SX). I have tried to follow the steps at DJ Techtools -rekordbox-use-controllers-jogwheels/ and for the most part BMT performs as described in the tutorial (so because of that website I purchased BMT).

Hey Pedro, your original post was the inspiration for this, and my efforts worked out well. I was able to get the VCI-100 mapped with some fairly good success. Using BMT allowed me to learn a lot more about RBDJ and ways to make it do more for me. I am currently looking at other Midi Mods to see how to chain various effects together using some of the stuff Teo Tormo is talking about here: -rekordbox-fx-and-adding-rmx-1000-control/

Rekordbox 5 Download Windows

Rekordbox 5 used a .EDB file to store the database at %AppData%\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\datafile.edb. This file appears to be a DeviceSQL database and Pioneer has not made any information about it available. Luckily they allowed us to export our data as an XML file so accessing the database was never much of a priority.

Now with Rekordbox 6, I'm sure you've noticed that it took a while to convert your library from Rekordbox 5 to 6. This is because they've completely changed the database from DeviceSQL to SQLite. The new database now resides at %AppData%\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\master.db. This is an SQLite 3 database encrypted with SQLCipher 4. A bit more about the security below.

The Rekordbox Agent is an Electron app. [Note: removed some detailed reverse engineering instructions here.] After looking inside the source, the app appears to run the Express web framework for Node.js. We can combine this information with what we see in the Rekordbox Agent log file at %AppData%\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordboxAgent\log.log. It contains lines like these:

Rekordbox Agent launches an Express instance so it can listen to incoming events. By default it uses port 30001. You appear to be able change this in %AppData%\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox6\rekordbox3.settings by changing the CloudAgentPortNumber key value.

There is one problem here though. The beatgrids are not found in the database. They appear to only be located in the ANLZ0000.DAT files. These are binary files that contain the exact beat locations (and more information such as cue points, waveform and more). These files are found at (for example) %AppData%\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\share\PIONEER\USBANLZ\00c\fc4d7-802f-430d-a845-0bd9a87cb09c. Looks familiar? These are also on your USB stick used by Pioneer CDJs. These files contain your pre-calculated waveforms, cue points, beatgrids and any other information the CDJs need.

rekordbox is not available for iPads or Android tablets. However there is an app called djay available on the App Store and Google play which can be used with the Pioneer DDJ-400 controller. Please note that you will also need a Lighting to USB 3 Camera Adapter in order to connect the controller to your iPad or iPhone.

rekordbox does not work with Spotify. rekordbox DJ is primarily designed to mix audio files stored locally on the hard drive of your computer. The latest version of rekordbox has Tidal, Beatsoure Link, Beatport Link and Soundcloud Go+ streaming integration. The djay app mentioned above no longer works with Spotify.

If I create (manually) a playlist in rekordbox and drop some files, analyse them and then export it to a USB -stick, it all works fine. My playlist contains tracks and all files are analysed properly.

with a Serato DJ Pro subscription. Both rekordbox and Serato enable artists to play music files stored on their device; as well as tracks from TIDAL, Beatport Streaming, Beatsource Streaming and SoundCloud Go+. (Paid Subscriptions May Be Required).

Artists can perform using rekordbox or Serato DJ Lite for free by connecting their PC/Mac to the DDJ-FLX4. Artists looking to upgrade to Serato DJ Pro can buy a license or subscription for the premium version of the software.

The DDJ-FLX4 is compatible with a host of devices including PC and Mac computers, iPhones and iPads, and Android phones and tablets. Artists can also use the controller with rekordbox for iOS/Android when the update becomes available in early 2023 and can connect to the device via Bluetooth.

rekordbox is compatible with a different choice of streaming services. So, depending on the DJ software artists use, they can choose from millions of tracks available on the TIDAL, Beatport Streaming, Beatsource Streaming, and SoundCloud Go+ platforms (subscriptions required) and mix them together on the DDJ-FLX4. Artists can use all the effects and performance features to spice up their favorite songs and create their own sound. 2351a5e196
