All talks, poster session and splinter sessions will take place in the Haus der Astronomie on top of the Königstuhl hill, in Heidelberg.
MPIA is best reached by bus. Dedicated conference bus shuttles will carry participants between the town and the venue every morning and evening. The conference buses are free of charge.
The conference buses will leave from in front of the "ATOS" clinic, on Bismarckplatz (top map) at 8:15 and 8:20 every morning. Please arrive by 8:05 if you wish to take one of the buses.
The buses will then stop to pick up more participants at the "Peterskirche" bus stop (bottom map) at around 8:17 and 8:22. Please arrive by 8:10 to catch one of the buses at Peterskirche.

City buses: Bus number 30 (direction MPI Astronomie) will take you all the way up the mountain and inside MPIA's main gate, where the conference is taking place. It comes every hour.
Bus number 39 (direction Königstuhl) will take you the observatory (stop name "Sternwarte") which is located at the back entrance of MPIA. Getting to the front of MPIA can be a bit confusing, and takes 5-10 minutes. This bus also comes every hour. Please note that the bus number 39 is not to be confused with the bus number 39A, which goes somewhere completely different!
Car: If you are coming by car, you are welcome to use our on-site car park, which includes electric charging points.
Bike or walk: The way up the hill to MPIA is very challenging, and we do not recommend that participants attempt to reach the institute by bike or on foot! Rental electric scooters are not permitted to go up the hill, and will lock automatically.
By plane
The airport offering easiest access to Heidelberg is Frankfurt International. The train trip from the airport takes between 1-1.5 hours depending on the time of day. Alternatively, taxi shuttles for up to 8 people can be booked between the airport and Heidelberg for a relatively low cost; these groups will be organized if there is interest from the participants.
By train
Heidelberg station is connected by very frequent trains to the neighboring city of Mannheim, making it easy to reach by train from anywhere in Europe. However, participants coming by train should anticipate frequent delays of the trains in Germany over the summer.
