Screenplays, twine and Inkle ideas. mission scripts and short stories.
1) A screenplay adaptation of "Saturnalia". - I wondered how this videogame could be brought to the form of a script, and the idea was to give it introductory scene typical of horror movies (as seen in Cabal, Empty Man, Blood of Bay, etc...) to set the mood and imply a parallel narrative.
2) A 3 page long cinematic sample - This sample features the start cinematic for a "Plague Tale" like fantasy game. It should set the tone for the experience and seed the mistery. Three pages for three acts: set-up, confrontation, resolution.
A 20 minute long Twine interrogation game about a miraculous and magical man who has been held in custody for quite some time.
This was my first experiment designing such complex branches and multiple endings all handle by the player agency and decisions.
Also, here is the flowchart to have a better idea about the project size.
1) Three fake-database entries for the Ubisoft games Assassin’s Creed II (2009) & Assassin's Creed Syndacate (2015) - One thing I loved about 2010's videogames are how the convey information through the CODEX, a library of text to read for the player to know about the world. This sample shows my experiments in doing so, using as ispiration three AC videogames and their sarcastic tone.
2) A 2-page-long document of generical barks. - Every NPC in the document has a little context and a series of lines for different situtation. The idea was to give information about the world and about the health of the protagonist and characters without being...dull.
1) A Quest Flowchart - I designed this quest for an opening position as Quest Designer at Sucker Punch back in 2020. The idea was to add folk-horror vibes to a game that lacks of any supernatural element. Also I designed the quest it in way that it could be resumed anytime, but with narrative consequences. in order to give the players a sensation of urge and changing in the world.
2) A 7-page-long mission script - I played the game multiple times and had fun imagining what side quests could be added and how to convey them in the form of a mission script, so I chose a simple mission with just a few branches to experiment with the format.
3) A Dialogue Flowchart - Baldur's Gate 3 is my most played game of 2023. Fascinated by its dialogue and characters, I decided to write a quest with a humorous tone, where every decision the player makes leads to catastrophic consequences.
