Participants will a) identify a teaching strategy that will improve a course to support equitable learning opportunities for students who have been left behind in traditional approaches to reading and writing pedagogies and b) receive support from other participants with implementing and assessing changes to their teaching after the conference ends.

What have we learned from moments when our pedagogical practices created learning barriers for students? What strategies might we use to develop flexible, adaptable pedagogies that support reading and writing development for all students--and not just those who come to college well-prepared for literacy learning? How might we assess pedagogical changes to know that they contribute to educational equity?
