University of Missouri - Art Education
Program Director: Dr. Kathy Unrath
In an era of imagination, we are creating an exchange infrastructure in which new complex systems and frames can be developed to support and illuminate the power of visual arts and visual literacy in 21st century schools. We will build and empower a collective of change agents for revisioning visual art and design education. We acknowledge the experiential knowledge and collective imaginations of educators across the K-20 spectrum as we develop and amplify new systems and assemble an infrastructure of people and resources that are a living and engaged collective.
We expect attendees to be a part of a collaborative and dynamic virtual experience! The day will begin with a keynote address and lead into short presentations designed to spark new ideas about art education as it pertains to the NOW and the FUTURE. In the afternoon participants will engage in a collaborative experience that illuminates visual art for emergence and art teachers as the force that propels our imagined future. All sessions will be recorded and access to a private Facebook group will be made available so attendees can continue to contribute! Symposium will be delivered using the zoom platform as well as google tools.
