Social Studies 9
Class overview
Social Studies 9 will look at political, social, and economic change from 1750 to 1919. This course includes the study of: Canada’s search for Responsible Government, Canada becoming a modern nation (Confederation), First Nations (Imperialism Colonization), Industrialization and Technological Advancements, Revolutions and Rebellions around the World, the Victorian Era, and World Conflicts including World War One. Social Studies will also examine discriminatory policies, attitudes, and historical wrongs during this time period. Physical Geography is important as we seek to understand Geographic Regions, Natural Resources, and Economic Activities in Canada.
