Our initiatives revolve around three primary pillars of impact: Education, Health, and Research. These core areas form the foundation of our programs, designed to complement one another seamlessly. This intentional synergy ensures a comprehensive and holistic approach, maximizing the positive effects on the communities we serve.
Who We Serve
We instill hope in children and adolescents by providing a daily nutritious school meal, allowing them to focus on education instead of working or begging for food. This daily provision not only alleviates immediate hunger but also plays a crucial role in reducing micronutrient deficiency and anemia among students. By addressing both nutritional and academic needs, we aspire to create a foundation for a healthier and more promising future for these young individuals.
Our program focuses on enhancing parents' health and nutrition knowledge to promote healthy parenting and support physical development. Through intensive outreach education, parents receive training on essential nutrients, food groups, and hygiene. Our approach, utilizing diverse methods like visual aids and practical exercises, goes beyond traditional training to induce behavioral change. Specialized educational materials and a team of trained professionals ensure effective program delivery. Parents actively engage in food demonstrations, applying knowledge acquired during training, empowering them to make informed choices for their families and fostering a culture of health in the community.
We have implemented transformative Community Wellness Campaign in TA M’bang’ombe. With a clear vision of Empower, Educate, Elevate, we aimed to shift societal perceptions and advocate for women's and children's rights. Executing this vision involved dynamic community campaigns, uniting families, schools, and the community. With crucial support from local stakeholders, we showcased real-life examples of healthy parenting practices, creating a communicable campaign that resonated across the region. The impact includes empowered sessions on healthy parenting, advocacy for children's and women's rights, and positive ripple effects throughout the community
Amidst limited educational resources in Malawi, schools face a stark absence of health and nutrition education materials, aggravated by inadequate infrastructure. Public education institutions in these areas lack awareness of the crucial importance of health and nutrition for children and adolescents, as evident in preliminary surveys at Mkhalapadzuwa primary school revealing disparities in student numbers and learning material availability, especially in health-related subjects. To address this, our project strives to produce accessible health and hygiene materials designed for children and adolescents, strategically placing books and banners within schools. These materials cover essential information on health, nutrition, and hygiene practices, fostering better physical development and disease prevention.
In our program, parents receive food vouchers to assess education and practice effectiveness. This innovative approach confirms the practical application of educational content. The project empowers mothers by enhancing their purchasing power, overcoming economic constraints that influence food choices, especially those influenced by paternal preferences. Collaborating with merchants offering diverse food materials ensures market access in geographically restricted areas. This multifaceted approach not only applies nutritional knowledge practically but also empowers parents to make informed food choices for their families.
Introducing the "Co-parenting Program: Eat + Play + Love," a comprehensive initiative geared towards creating a father-inclusive parenting curriculum for parents with children aged 6-23 months. This program is crafted to elevate child feeding practices, promote early stimulation, and encourage heightened father engagement in childcare responsibilities. Our mission is to cultivate a nurturing environment that not only enhances the overall well-being of children but also strengthens familial bonds through meaningful and collaborative parenting experiences. A pivotal aspect of our initiative involves rigorous assessment to determine the program's effectiveness in improving child feeding, early stimulation practices, and fostering increased fathers' engagement in childcare.
