Founded by the First Congregational Church of Bloomfield (UCC), the Food Access & SNAP Change Preparedness Committee was created to respond proactively to anticipated changes in federal SNAP benefits and to strengthen collaboration among towns, faith communities, and partner organizations working to address food insecurity.
Our short-term goal is to mobilize quickly to ensure residents and families maintain consistent access to nutritious food and essential household items during potential funding disruptions.
Our long-term goal is to build a sustainable regional network that connects churches, municipalities, and community partners to coordinate resources, share information, and respond rapidly to emerging food access challenges.
Together, we are creating a foundation of preparedness, compassion, and cooperation, ensuring that no household in our region goes without access to food or community support.
