「北陸Regionダンスフェスティバル2026」は、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス（AIR）プログラムです。
ジャンルを問わず、さまざまな分野で活動するアーティストを対象に、北陸地方の“まち”に一定期間滞在し、地域住民との交流を通して、その土地ならではの表現や活動を生み出すことを支援します。

今回は、被災地である能登地方を対象地域とし、復興支援を兼ねたAIRに意欲的に取り組んでいただけるアーティスト1名を募集します。

選出されたアーティストには、市民と積極的に関わりながら、対話や共同活動を重ね、その場所でしか生まれ得ない活動や作品の創造に取り組んでいただきます。

創作を通して、社会や被災地復興と関わる実践的な活動を行うことを目指します。

本事業の目的は、全国から多様で個性的な表現を持つアーティストを石川県に招き、コンテンポラリーダンスを軸に、北陸と全国をつなぐことです。

また、アーティストと地域住民が交流することで、コミュニティの活性化を促し、ダンスやアートに触れる機会を地域に届けることで、地域振興の一助となることを目指しています。

加えて、自然環境や古民家など、従来の劇場とは異なる空間を表現の場として活用することで、アーティストにとっては新たな創造的挑戦の機会を、地域にとっては「町そのものを創造的な場所として再発見する」きっかけを生み出すことを目指しています。
こうした活動を通じて、アーティスト自身が創造を通じて社会と関わり、地域とのつながりを深める力を育むことも、本事業の重要な目的です。

“なぜコンテンポラリーダンスなのか”

このAIRフェスティバルでは、コンテンポラリーダンスを企画の軸としています。
コンテンポラリーダンスは、特定の型にとらわれず、その成り立ちにおいて多様な文化を取り入れながら進化してきた芸術です。異なる文化や価値観をもつ人同士が、互いを尊重し、理解し合うための有効な表現手段でもあります。身体を通して相手と向き合うことで、国や背景の違いを越えて心を通わせることができます。

世界に対して心を開き、他者を理解しようとする姿勢を内包するコンテンポラリーダンスだからこそ、本企画の軸となり、全体を支える存在になり得ます。

ジャンル不問で募集する理由

本企画では、ジャンルを限定せず参加者を募集します。その理由は、コンテンポラリーダンスそのものが、他ジャンルとの出会いや融合によって進化してきた表現であるからです。
また、地方の過疎地や被災地という場所では、「完成された作品を持ち込むこと」よりも、地域や人、環境と向き合いながら、そこでしか生まれない表現を立ち上げていく姿勢が重要だと考えています。
ジャンルを越えた多様なアーティストの参加により、地域との関係性の築き方や表現の可能性はより豊かになり、結果として、コンテンポラリーダンスの本質である「開かれた表現」そのものを体現する場になると考えています。

開催地について

今回の対象地域である能登地方では、地震発生から2年が経過した現在も、復旧が進む一方で、倒壊したままの家屋や整備されていない漁港など、震災の爪痕が残る場所が多く存在しています。
また、メディアで取り上げられる機会が少なく、支援の手が届きにくい地域や、もともと過疎化が進んでいた地域では、時間の経過とともに新たな課題が生まれています。

このような状況の中で、アーティストの皆様には能登地方に滞在し、地域の文化や歴史に触れながら、住民との対話や交流を重ねていただくことで、地域に新たな視点や活力をもたらし、復興支援に寄与していただきたいと考えています。
創作や共同活動が、被災地の再生や、住民の心の支えにつながる取り組みとなることを願っています。

本プログラムの趣旨に共感し、意欲的に取り組んでくださるアーティストの皆様のご応募を、心よりお待ちしております。

2026年7月13日（月）～7月20日（月・祝）
※制作のために滞在期間を延長したい場合は応相談

応募資格

・表現活動を行っているアーティスト
　※ジャンル不問（コンテンポラリーダンスを主軸としつつ、美術、映像、音楽、写真、文芸、伝統工芸、食・料理なども可）

・年齢・性別・国籍不問（日本語で意思疎通ができること）
　※18歳未満の場合は保護者の署名が必要

・作品制作・現地での生活を自立して行えること
・滞在期間中の全日程に石川県内に滞在できること
・市民・スタッフ・他の滞在者と協調し、円滑なコミュニケーションが取れること
・過去に犯罪歴がなく、反社会的勢力に属していないこと
・健康状態が良好で、必要に応じて健康状態の報告ができること

活動内容

・市民との交流事業を1回以上企画・実施していただきます
・滞在期間中の週末に成果発表（パフォーマンスなど）を実施していただきます
・7月20日（月）17:00頃（予定）公式アドバイザー：乗越たかお氏（オンライン）参加による報告会・振り返りミーティングでのご登壇をお願いします。

活動場所・滞在先

石川県能登地方
七尾市、輪島市、珠洲市、志賀町、穴水町、能登町のいずれかの地域
※主催者が指定する宿泊施設に滞在していただきます

支援内容

・交通費：上限3万円（国内交通費に限り・実費支給）
・滞在先の提供（指定の宿泊先へご宿泊いただきます）
・生活費：24,000円（3,000円×8日）の支給※調整中
・成果発表時の照明・音響等のテクニカルサポートを予定
・成果発表の映像記録（無償提供）予定
・滞在サポートアーティスト1名が同行予定

※地域での活動をより広げるため、公募で選ばれたアーティストに対し、現地にゆかりのある異ジャンルのアーティストを紹介し、共同制作を行う可能性があります。
コラボレーションの可否や関わり方については、アーティスト本人の意思を尊重し、相談のうえ決定します。

※２人以上のグループでの応募の場合も交通費・生活費の支給額は同じです。人数分の支給ではありません。

Open Call for AIR Participating Artist

Hokuriku Region Dance Festival 2026

Hokuriku Region Dance Festival 2026 is an Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program.
It invites artists from a wide range of disciplines to stay for a certain period in towns across the Hokuriku region, engaging with local communities and developing expressions and activities rooted in the unique characteristics of each place.

For this edition, we focus on the Noto Peninsula, an area affected by the earthquake, and seek one artist who is highly motivated to participate in an AIR program that also contributes to post-disaster recovery.
The selected artist will actively engage with local residents through dialogue and collaborative activities, and work toward creating activities or artworks that can only emerge from this specific place.

Through creative practice, the program aims to foster practical engagement with society and post-disaster recovery.

Purpose of the Program

The purpose of this project is to invite artists with diverse and distinctive practices from across Japan to Ishikawa Prefecture, using contemporary dance as the core axis to connect Hokuriku with the wider artistic community nationwide.

By encouraging interaction between artists and local residents, the program seeks to revitalize local communities and provide greater access to dance and art, contributing to regional development.

In addition, by using natural environments, traditional houses, and other non-theatrical spaces as sites for expression, the program offers artists new creative challenges while enabling communities to rediscover their towns as creative spaces.
Through these activities, the project also aims to nurture artists’ ability to engage with society and deepen their relationships with local communities through creative practice.

Why Contemporary Dance?

This AIR festival positions contemporary dance as its conceptual foundation.
Contemporary dance has evolved by incorporating diverse cultures and influences, without being bound to fixed forms. It functions as an effective medium through which people with different cultural and value backgrounds can respect and understand one another.

By engaging directly with others through the body, contemporary dance allows communication that transcends nationality, language, and background.
Because it embodies openness toward the world and a willingness to understand others, contemporary dance is uniquely suited to serve as the central pillar supporting this project as a whole.

Why We Welcome Artists from All Genres

While contemporary dance forms the conceptual core of this project, applications are open to artists of all genres.
This is because contemporary dance itself has evolved through encounters and collaborations with other disciplines.

In rural and disaster-affected areas, what matters is not bringing in completed works, but engaging sincerely with the place, its people, and its environment, allowing expressions to emerge that could only be created there.
By welcoming artists from diverse fields, the ways of building relationships with the community and the possibilities of expression are enriched, ultimately embodying the essence of contemporary dance as an open and inclusive form of expression.

About the Host Region: Noto Peninsula

Even two years after the earthquake, the Noto Peninsula continues to face ongoing challenges. While recovery progresses in some areas, many places still bear visible traces of the disaster, including collapsed houses and damaged fishing ports.

In addition, some regions receive little media attention and limited external support. In areas that were already experiencing depopulation before the disaster, new challenges have emerged over time.

In this context, participating artists are invited to stay in Noto, engage with local culture and history, and deepen dialogue and exchange with residents. Through this process, artists are expected to bring new perspectives and vitality to the region, contributing to recovery efforts.
We hope that creative and collaborative activities will support both the regeneration of the affected areas and the emotional well-being of local residents.

We warmly welcome applications from artists who resonate with the philosophy of this program and are eager to participate.

Residency Period (Tentative)

July 13 (Mon) – July 20 (Mon, Public Holiday), 2026
Extension of the residency period for further creation may be discussed.

• July 13: Arrival

• July 14–18: Creation, research, workshops, and community engagement

• July 19: Public presentation / performance

• July 20: Report session and reflection meeting

Eligibility

• Artists actively engaged in creative practice
  All genres welcome (with contemporary dance as the conceptual axis; fine art, video, music, photography, literature, traditional crafts, food/cooking, etc. are also eligible)

• No restrictions on age, gender, or nationality (must be able to communicate in Japanese)
  Applicants under 18 require a guardian’s signature

• Able to work independently on creation and daily life during the residency

• Able to stay in Ishikawa Prefecture for the entire residency period

• Able to communicate and collaborate respectfully with residents, staff, and other participants

• No criminal record or affiliation with antisocial organizations

• In good physical and mental health, and able to report health status if necessary

Activities Required

• Plan and conduct at least one community engagement activity (e.g., workshop)

• Present a performance or public showing during a weekend of the residency

• Participate as a speaker in the final report and reflection meeting
  (Scheduled for July 20 at approximately 17:00; Official Advisor: Takao Norikoshi, online participation)

Activity Location / Accommodation

Noto region, Ishikawa Prefecture
(One of the following: Nanao City, Wajima City, Suzu City, Shika Town, Anamizu Town, or Noto Town)
Artists will stay at accommodation designated by the organizer.

Support Provided

• Transportation expenses: up to 30,000 JPY (domestic travel only, reimbursed based on actual costs)

• Accommodation provided (designated lodging)

• Living allowance: 24,000 JPY (3,000 JPY × 8 days) under adjustment

• Technical support (lighting, sound, etc.) for the final presentation (planned)

• Video documentation of the presentation (to be provided free of charge, planned)

• One support artist will accompany the residency

To further expand community engagement, the selected artist may be introduced to a locally connected artist from a different genre for possible collaboration. The nature and extent of collaboration will be discussed and decided with full respect for the artist’s wishes.

For group applications (two or more people), transportation and living allowance amounts remain the same.The payment is not based on the number of people.
International travel costs are not covered; however, an invitation letter will be issued to selected artists.

Selection Process
