Are You Experiencing Homelessness or Housing Instability?
If you are staying temporarily with other people because you lost housing or cannot afford housing, living in a shelter, motel, vehicle, campground, or another temporary or inadequate place, you or your child may qualify for protections under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
Contact your school district's McKinney-Vento Liaison. The liaison can help with enrollment, staying in the same school, transportation, school supplies, referrals to community resources, and other barriers to attending and succeeding in school.

Are You a Student in Foster Care?
Students in foster care have educational protections designed to promote school stability and prevent unnecessary disruption when placements change. Your school district's Foster Care Point of Contact can help coordinate with the child welfare agency and other schools.
