Reginald Bellerose is a proven political and business leader focused on making a positive difference in First Nations communities through economic stewardship.
Reginald served for 17 years as the Chief of Muskowekwan First Nation. He retired as Chief in the summer of 2021 to pursue other ways of improving the lives of First Nations peoples across Canada.
Reginald has a record of successful advocacy for First Nations organizations and institutions. He continues to serve as Chair of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), which he joined in 2015, and is also the chair of Saskatchewan Indian Training Assessment Group (SITAG).
As a First Nations Chief, Reginald spearheaded important projects of local and national significance. He is passionate about advocacy of gaming, education, justice reform, children, and the labour market, and he remains committed to improving economic sovereignty for all First Nations.
Reginald earned a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the University of Saskatchewan. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from Concordia University in Edmonton. He has also learned from the many Chiefs and Elders that he had the honour of working with during his time as a First Nations chief.
