All About Epoxy Floor Paints for Industrial Flooring
Epoxy resins, also known as polyepoxides, are various reactive prepolymers and polymers that contain epoxide groups. The reaction of polyepoxides with themselves or with polyfunctional hardeners forms a thermosetting polymer that results in complementary mechanical characteristics and high thermal and chemical resistance. Epoxy has a wide range of applications that include metal coatings, in electronics/electrical components/LEDs, high tension electrical insulators, paintbrush manufacturing, fibre-reinforced plastic materials, and adhesives for structural and other purposes.
Epoxy paints are manufactured initially for industrial application. It is a latex acrylic component containing a small amount of epoxy for flooring purposes. Those paints make a durable protective coating that makes the floor easy to maintain. The composition of epoxy floor paint provides a high level of chemical, abrasion, impact, salt, water, acid, alkali and heat resistance, making the floor surface super long-lasting and traffic protected. Large scale industries usually use those paints for their floors who expect a heavy range of vehicle traffic on a daily basis.
There are many kinds of epoxy paints, but only two types are hugely used in industrial flooring, i.e. Concrete floor paint and Garage Floor Paint.
