Christian Education

The mission of the Christian Education Department of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is to promote and supervise Christian training that fosters the development of credible, committed Christian disciples. Through Biblically-based, doctrinally sound, innovative and relevant education, training and worship, the Department works collaboratively with the Board of Christian Education to disciple the entire membership of the denomination.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

The mission of Varick’s Children Ministry is to foster spiritual formation, leadership development, scholastic reengagement, and cultural enrichment for children in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.

SCRIPTURE: “Even a child makes himself known by his actions, whether his deeds are pure or right.” (Proverbs 20:11)

PRAYER: Lord what I am not, make me. What I know not, teach me. What I have not, give me. Amen.

COLORS: Red (Jesus’ blood) and White (innocence)

YOUTH MINISTRY

PURPOSE: To cultivate spiritual growth and spiritual development among persons 13-21. They also provide representation for the youth of this denomination. VICYC coordinates their activities, channel their concerns and present their collective contributions to the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.

COLORS: Red (blood of Jesus) and Purple (royalty)

YOUNG ADULTS IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY (YACM)

PURPOSE: To encourage and motivate young adults to maintain committed lives to Christ and practice Christian principles. Provide an atmosphere in which young adults can develop and demonstrate their skills, talents and abilities to the furthering of Christian Education within and throughout the Conference of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church

COLORS: Red (symbolizes power and the redemptive work of the blood of Jesus) and Gold (symbolizes royalty; chosen people; royal priesthood)

ASSEMBLY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATORS

The Assembly of Christian Educators (ACE) is a body of dedicated, faithful, and committed Christians doing the will of God through educational ministry. We endeavor to extend to all persons the mission of Jesus Christ through a holistic approach. We promote God's Word, the importance of Christian nurture and the doctrines of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Therefore, it is our goal to develop (1) discipleship, (2) personal growth, and (3) spiritual growth through training, educational resource sharing, stewardship, witnessing, outreach, and fellowship.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY: ZION WOMEN ROCK

The mission of the Zion Women Rock Ministry is to inspire women of all ages to be true women of God; to encourage women to grow in their faith in Christ, and strengthen relationships with women of all ages.

MEN'S MINISTRY: SONS OF VARICK

The purpose of the Sons of Varick is to engage men of all ages in an organized effort of promoting the cause of education, evangelism and missions in the local community, district, conference and Episcopal area. The Sons of Varick works in concert with the Christian Education Department and is responsible for touching, teaching, equipping and employing men in a manner that fosters the development of credible, committed Christian disciples.
