Amina's (38) family came here from the Kandahar region of Afghanistan. She and her husband have 6 children ranging frim 3-10. Amina has been facing chronic illness and mounting hospital bills. Doctors have yet to determine what the cause is.

Nooria is 30 years old. She and her husband have four children between the ages of 5 and 8. She loves coming up new designs and is very resourceful and smart. Check out the bags she has made with recycled material!

Farida (32) and her husband came here in late 2022. They have 5 children and aged from infant to 10. Their 8-year-old has profound mental health issues for which they are seeking assistance through AISD.

Naghma is 35 years old. She and her husband came from Jalalabad. The family has 9 children ranging from ages 1-15. She is very resourceful and quite bright.

Nazia is 34 years old. She has 6 children ranging from 1-16. Nazia came from Kabul, where se worked as a seamstress making both home goods and clothes.

Farema is 46 years old. She has 6 children ranging from age 7 to age 25. In Afghanistan, her husband worked as a carpenter and Farema helped to uphoster the goods he made. She always has a smile on her face and delicous cooking to share.
