Most information can apply to Australia.  Exact dimension must refer to AS1428.1 Design for Access and Mobility; as well as stakeholders requirements.

Toilet Pipe Design

The crucial understanding is there is always a 'water seal' at the bottom of the toilet to avoid fault air and bacteria escaping from the public sewage pipe. 

Pipe vents - Air pressure behind the 'water seal' may drop.  This will pull the water out of the water seal. 

To eliminate this problem, pipes are vented.  It means it can draw air in from a place away from people if the pipe pressure drop. 

Victorian School Building Authority design guideline

This guideline contains design requirements to meet education standard in Victoria.

Search if there are any updated documents when designing.  

Town Planning & Building Regulation.  Fundamental / Background. 

The three part video specifically relates to Design Guidelines.  Such as front yard setback, side setback, private open space sizes and minimum dimension and the like.  

Town Planning Regulation governs designs.

Building Regulation governs the safety of building, with design requirement related to the amenity of the users.

The design part overlaps.

If a Planning Permit expressing approved an infringed Building Regulation governed design rule, we can proceed to next stage.  

If a Planning Permit do not govern an infringe Building Regulation governed design rule, we need to apply for Report and Consent. 

Do we need a Building Permit?
