This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension Reframe & Sift for YouTube (the “Extension”) handles information. The Extension is an unofficial tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.
1. Summary
The Extension customizes the appearance and layout of YouTube (youtube.com) based on settings you choose. We do not sell user data, use data for unrelated purposes, or use data for credit or lending decisions. Most data stays on your device.
2. Information the Extension Stores on Your Device
The Extension saves the following locally in your browser (Chrome storage and, in some cases, local/session storage on youtube.com):
Extension settings — feature on/off toggles, column count, filter thresholds, blocked words, display language, layout preferences
License / trial state — free-trial start time and whether premium features have been purchased
Temporary display hints — short-lived values to reduce visual flicker when pages load
This information is used only to operate the Extension and is not sent to the developer’s own servers.
3. Website Content Processed on Your Device
The Extension reads content on YouTube pages you visit (e.g. video titles, view counts, page structure) locally in your browser to apply filters, hide sections, and adjust layout. It does not collect a list of pages you have visited, and it does not run on sites other than YouTube (except payment pages as described below).
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect: personally identifiable information, payment card numbers, passwords, private messages, location data, browsing history logs, or keystroke/click/scroll analytics.
5. Payments (Third-Party Services)
Premium features can be purchased via ExtensionPay (Stripe). Payment details are processed by Stripe via ExtensionPay and are not received or stored by the Extension or the developer. Only the purchase result (e.g. premium unlocked) is stored on your device. See ExtensionPay and Stripe privacy policies for payment data.
6. Permissions
storage — save settings and license state
alarms — periodically refresh purchase status (~every 3 hours)
Host access to youtube.com — customize YouTube’s UI
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell or transfer user data for unrelated purposes. Third parties are involved only when you initiate a purchase.
8. Data Retention
Data remains until you change settings, uninstall the Extension, or clear storage. Reinstalling may reset trial timing and some preferences.
9. Children’s Privacy
Not directed at children under 13.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
