Short Video Trends
Short Video Trends
For this project, I wanted to challenge myself to learn a new marketing skill:
creating short-form videos using current social media trends.
I produced a TikTok featuring one of my favorite holiday builds—the LEGO Gingerbread AT-AT—set to the viral SpongeBob “I don’t need it… I NEED IT!” audio.
I started by researching current TikTok trends and noticed that nostalgic audio clips, especially from shows like SpongeBob, were performing extremely well. The “I NEED IT” sound was trending under product reveals and humorous impulse-buy videos, so I built my concept around that idea.
The plan was simple:
Build suspense with progress or detail photos
Sync it all perfectly to the audio beats
This structure matched both the trend’s format and marketing psychology—building anticipation before a strong payoff.
This project taught me how powerful short-form video trends can be when used strategically. The SpongeBob audio added humor and nostalgia, while the AT-AT photos showcased the product in a visually engaging way. By pairing trending sounds with high-quality visual storytelling, the video becomes more discoverable and more shareable.
Creating this TikTok was a surprisingly effective way to combine creativity, marketing strategy, and holiday fun. The LEGO Gingerbread AT-AT was the perfect subject for showcasing a trending audio format, and the process gave me hands-on experience in trend-based content creation.
If you’re looking to improve your social media marketing, jumping into trends like this—especially ones that genuinely match your personality or interests—is one of the best ways to grow your content skills quickly.
I recently discovered that my dog has a hilarious secret talent—playing the guitar. Okay… not in real life. But thanks to AI and a little CapCut editing, it definitely looks like it!
I started by uploading an image of my dog into CapCut. The AI generator made the dog appear to be strumming a guitar like a tiny rock star. CapCut added movement, timing, and a bit of personality. The edits helped bring the scene to life, making it feel like a mini music video starring my pup.
Once it all came together, I couldn’t resist sharing it on my Instagram Story.
This little project reminded me how easy and fun it is to blend creativity, AI tools, and simple mobile editing to make standout content. It’s the perfect example of how a silly idea can turn into something eye-catching and share-worthy with just a few creative steps.
For this video, I used the DJ NOVA audio:
“I don’t know what the heck I did wrong… I made two lefts and one left, and somehow this is not my therapist’s office. How did I end up back…? Well, guess we gotta ride.”
I followed the trend by starting with the timing of the reveal to the audio shift—showing that instead of arriving at a therapist’s office, I somehow ended up back at Epic Universe. The transition, humor, and big location made the trend feel fun and unexpected.
This project helped me practice comedic timing, syncing visuals to audio, and using a strong location reveal to make short-form content more engaging.
Short-form videos are a powerful way to capture attention and tell a story in seconds. Whether highlighting a LEGO build, a vacation moment, or a fun AI creation, they combine humor, visuals, and trending audio to engage audiences quickly. These videos are highly shareable, memorable, and a fast, effective way to showcase creativity and connect with viewers in today’s digital landscape.
