The outdoor basketball court reflects our commitment to youth, recreation, and community connection. This court isn’t just a place to play—it’s a symbol of progress, teamwork, and opportunity.
Down Home Carolina and Community Pool Feasibility (2025)
Down Home has an Advanced, longstanding community desire to address water safety and expand recreation. Mayor Neal is one of a few elected officials who support this goal by working toward a Community pool feasibility study
Friday Night on the Tar brings music, food trucks, and family fun downtown.
BBQ in the BURG is a massive cook-off that raises money to help build a playground for all kids.
These events help people have fun AND help local businesses grow.
Got better rescue equipment for the fire department.

Supported a new museum to honor firefighters and police.
Started community dinners called Open Table so neighbors could meet and eat together.
Enhanced Swift Water Rescue Capabilities
Supported the Louisburg Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team with improved equipment and visibility following recent community tragedies.
Helped plan the big U.S. 401 highway project so traffic flows better and businesses can grow.

Franklin County Interfaith Council
It was a privilege to work with the Franklin County Interfaith Council on 'GIMME SHELTER,' a documentary that explores homelessness in Franklin County and how these challenges are shared nationwide. As a result of a lifetime of service, Mayor Neal recognized Beverly Kegley of Franklin County Interfaith Council on Women's History Month for her dedication to the town of Louisburg and the county at large. The Mayor supports the tireless mission of the Interfaith Council.
