Welcome to Redwood Bend, your ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Nestled within the Yurok reservation along the Klamath River, just outside Orick, CA, our retreat offers a truly off-the-grid experience, surrounded by majestic redwood.
Our 5-acre meadow features a flourishing orchard with peaches, pears, apples, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots, and grapes. With the Klamath River at our doorstep, this tranquil setting is perfect for recharging your spirit and disconnecting from the digital world—there’s no cellphone service or internet at any of our sites.
Being off the grid means we embrace a simpler lifestyle, which includes limited electricity. As a result, we don’t provide large appliances like hair dryers, heaters, or toasters. However, each lodging option is equipped with a cozy furnace to keep you warm on those chilly evenings.
Nature thrives here, with an abundance of wildlife to observe. Keep an eye out for silver foxes, a majestic bald eagle, and playful river otters downstream. You may even catch a glimpse of a soaring osprey, proudly displaying its freshly caught salmon while kayaking down the Klamath. While sightings of shy black bears are rare, they sometimes graze peacefully alongside deer in our meadow.
Our retreat is surrounded by historic logging trails from the lumber companies that operated here over 80 years ago. Today, the area is a lush forest of majestic redwood, towering douglas fir, madrone, cedar, oak, and various pine species. We’re also delighted to offer guests permission to hike on the adjacent Green Diamond properties, allowing for even more exploration of this stunning landscape.
