Artist Statement

     My work centers on drawing Raggedy Ann dolls as a way of reconnecting with nostalgia, comfort, and emotional safety. Raggedy Ann and Andy have always felt like more than a character to me—they both represent softness, care, and a kind of unconditional presence that many people associate with childhood. By repeatedly returning to this figure, I’m able to explore memory not as something fixed, but as something felt: frayed, imperfect, and deeply personal. Through my artwork, I want the viewer to return to a time when safety was something they could hold, feel, and be comforted by.
