Sandusky Ohio...January means chilly temperatures and the Chili Bowl for both real racers and slot car racers alike. The local racers found themselves on the brand new MaxTrax four lane "D" shaped oval for the first time, and for first time ever in Redmen Raceway history running marshaled heats. Three heat races were run with the winners advancing to the A Main with the remaining drivers heading to the alphabet soup.
Ryan Missler won the first heat, first time racer Steven Stout took heat two and Lee Booze got the last automatic slot into the main by winning the final heat.
Eliminations began with the D Main. Scarlet Missler took the win eliminating Grayson Liskai and Leon Booze. In the C Main Justin Liskai cruised to victory over Sawyer Stout, Lilian and Scarlet Missler. The B Main was a hot one as Bruce Minner booked his spot in the Chili Bowl finale by edging Justin Liskai by half a car length in an epic struggle. Randy Dickman and John Warren rounded out the B.
To no one's surprise track builder Lee Booze (the only driver with pre race day hotlaps on the tricky oval) cruised to the win over Ryan Missler, Bruce Minner and Steven Stout.
