Vision

The long-lasting vision of Rediscover Maple is to continue to commemorate Black history in Stow, MA; educate and present the rich history to the community; and celebrate the centennial anniversary in 2026.

Phase 1

Phase 1 of this project, which will be funded in part by this Education, Interpretation, and Curation grant, will involve securing two contractors, a Scholar-in-Residence and a Graphic Designer.

Phase 2

The second phase of this project will be to establish on-site interpretation at the former Mapledale Country Club, now Stow Acres Country Club, which as of 2021 is under a conservation restriction, guaranteeing the ongoing preservation of this historic site. This phase will also involve the creation of formal educational materials, such as curricula, handouts, and worksheets for dissemination in the local public schools.

Phase 3

The third, and final, phase of the project will be the centennial celebration of Mapledale Country Club. The exact form of this celebration is not yet solidified, but the committee is currently considering a festival, golf tournament, or other on-site event.
