Mauro Juan Chaves

My Uncle Mauro was the Patriarch of our large extended family. A proud Colombian-American and New Yorker, a hard worker and family man. I always teased seeing old photos of his youth, he was the Latin James Dean of our family. I grew up with him, my aunt and cousins -not just seeing them on holidays - but there from my childhood through adulthood. My whole NY/NJ/CT family of Uncles, Aunts and Cousins - such beautiful memories, he was the eldest and heart of it all. We were not allowed to be with him up until or during his passing because of this vicious virus but I will carry him with me always, thank you for allowing me to honor him in our hometown of Natick.
