Save Bergen

Redd Bergen / ‘Save Bergen’ is a citizens' initiative that focuses on professional, illegal short-term rental of housing in the centre of Bergen called Bergenhus. Our group was established in May 2025, after a large meeting between 100+ locals at Nordnes Bydelshus. We have a mandate from the participants at the meeting, to work for a reduction of professional short-term rentals in Bergen's homes. We report to Bergen city’s council about suspicious housings.
We are a part of 'BergenByliv', an organization consisting of Bergen's welfare associations and other city enthusiasts. The whole planet feels the problem with short term rental and many cities have put restrictions on Airbnb etc.
