Statera was already at war before the strange things started happening.

Mature Content Description

Contains religious and supernatural themes comparable to those found in the television series Supernatural. Includes themes of war, battlefield loss, grief, and funerals, as well as a non-graphic suicide, references to addiction, and portrayals of alcohol use. Some drinking is implied, but characters do not drink on-screen. An optional Blackjack-style minigame uses a fixed amount of earned in-game gold as an entry cost and awards only Guild Tokens redeemable for in-game items. There is no real-money wagering, variable betting, cash-out, or ability to win additional gold. The game also features non-graphic violence and mild coarse language throughout, similar to what you find in many PlayStation-era JRPGs. Overall, this content is most suitable for teenagers and older, with parental supervision for minors. 

About the Developer

Red Canopy Games is an independent game studio founded by a career military veteran. Critical Chaos is the studio's first commercial title. The squad dynamics, the weight of command, and the cost of bad odds in this game are not borrowed from other games - they come from real experience.

The game draws heavy inspiration from '90s-era JRPGs including Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, '80s and '90s Fantasy AND Sci-fi movies and filtered through a CAREER MILITARY veteran developer's lens.
