Statera was already at war before the strange things started happening.

An ambitious empire is pushing its borders through force and fear. Strange forces move in the shadows - things that don't answer to politics or power. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, everything your squad is fighting to protect. You didn't ask for this mission. But here you are.

Your squad is veterans, misfits, and people bound by circumstance rather than destiny. They argue. They sacrifice. They carry weight that doesn't show on a status screen. Critical Chaos is a story about people under pressure in a world that is running out of time.

Statera is bigger than the war. Empire pressure reshapes cities and borders. Strange technology exists in places it shouldn't. Time is not stable. The further you push, the more the world stops making the kind of sense you can fight your way out of.

About the Developer

Red Canopy Games is an independent game studio founded by a career military veteran. Critical Chaos is the studio's first commercial title. The squad dynamics, the weight of command, and the cost of bad odds in this game are not borrowed from other games - they come from real experience.

The game draws heavy inspiration from '90s-era JRPGs including Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Final Fantasy VII, filtered through a veteran developer's lens.
