Esports, short for "electronic sports," refers to organized video game competitions where players or teams compete against each other in various video games. These competitions can range from casual matches to highly competitive tournaments, often with significant prizes and fan followings. Esports involves players and teams competing in a wide range of video game genres, and it has become a popular and rapidly growing industry with a dedicated fan base.
There are many games can could be used that are age appropriate with primary aged pupils. Some possiblities included Rocket League, Fifa and Minecraft which could all be considered in the future. Currently we have chosen to use MarioKart 8 as our game of choice.
Teams will compete in races. A round will be one Cup. A Cup is 4 tracks. In each track you need to complete 3 laps. You are given a score to show where you come in a race, there is a maximum of 15 points per track. So the whole team is involved, they will be required to swap players at the start of each new lap, so each player will play one lap of each track.
