1. Why do periods happen?
Periods happen because girls are going through puberty.
Every month the uterus sheds its lining.
You aren’t actually bleeding it's just the cells that are reacting.
The uterine lining is very nutrient, dense and is a natural part of your cycle.
Your period is telling you that you are not having a child.
2. Hormonal disruptors
Hormonal disruptors are endocrine disruptors that are harmful chemicals in food and other products.
The disruptors upsets the hormone system, that can lead to significant health issues. Hormonal disruptors can move in between the cells by sending the wrong message to the rest of the body.
To avoid this, you can: wash your hands, use products that are safe alternatives and avoid canned foods.
Some ways to improve hormone health are to sleep 8-9 hours, avoid microplastics, and eat healthy foods.
3. Birth control
There is estrogen or progesterone in hormonal birth control. It is helpful for people with really bad period pain, and may help regulate period cycles or get rid of periods all together.
Birth control comes in many different forms like a pill, implant device and an IUD. If you stop taking the pill or the injection your period will come back eventually, however it will take a while to get rid of the hormones in your body.
With any medication there is different side effects, but birth control typically will not affect fertility.
