Varsity and JV squads are chosen based on the scores that each athlete receives from their tryouts. A great varsity cheerleader will have excellent foundational skills like tight motions, correct motion placement, and good jump form, as well as enthusiasm and showmanship in cheers and dances.
Once final scores are tallied from all judges, they are organized by highest to lowest. The highest scores will make Varsity. When there is a noticeable break in the scoring pattern, that will determine the end of Varsity and the start of the JV team. When there is another noticeable break in scores, it will determine the end of JV and athletes falling below that score break will not receive a spot on the Varsity or JV Teams.
All athletes will be notified of whether or not they made the team via email by Friday 4/23. This email will go to the student's RL email address.
If you do not make the team this season, please do not be discouraged from trying out in the future for Winter Cheer or Football Cheer next year!!
