Welcome to RecScribe: Record & Transcribe (“RecScribe,” “the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the App, including its audio recording, real-time transcription, AI summary, and subscription features.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.
RecScribe provides tools to help you record audio, convert speech into text, and summarize recorded content.
The App includes the following features:
Audio Recording: Record audio using your device's microphone.
Real-Time Transcription: Convert spoken words into text through on-device processing.
AI Summary: Generate summaries and key points from supported content using cloud-based AI processing.
Recording and Transcript Management: Access and manage recordings and associated text within the App, subject to its available functionality.
Subscription Features: Access designated premium features through an available paid subscription.
Feature availability may vary depending on your device, operating system, subscription status, and technical conditions.
You may use the App only if you are legally permitted to do so under the laws applicable to you.
If you are under the age at which you can independently agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
By using the App, you represent that you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You are responsible for your use of the App and for all content you record, transcribe, summarize, or share.
You agree to:
Obtain all legally required permissions and consent before recording conversations, meetings, or other individuals.
Comply with applicable recording, privacy, data protection, copyright, and confidentiality laws.
Ensure that you have the necessary rights and authority to record and process the content you submit.
Avoid using the App to conduct unlawful surveillance, harassment, or other unauthorized activities.
Review transcripts and AI-generated summaries before relying on or distributing them.
Keep any sensitive or confidential information you process appropriately protected.
You are solely responsible for determining whether recording or processing particular content is lawful in your circumstances.
The App is designed to process audio recordings and real-time transcription on your device.
Recording and transcription functionality depends on your device's microphone, operating system, available storage, and other technical conditions.
Transcription results may be affected by background noise, accents, pronunciation, speaking speed, overlapping conversations, and recording quality.
We do not guarantee that recordings will always be complete or that transcripts will be entirely accurate, uninterrupted, or available under all circumstances.
You are responsible for verifying important information against the original recording.
The AI Summary feature uses cloud-based processing to generate summaries, key points, and other supported text-based outputs.
To provide this functionality, relevant content from your recording or transcript may be transmitted to the applicable AI processing service.
AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omit important details, or misinterpret the original content. They are provided for informational and productivity purposes only and are not a substitute for professional advice or independent judgment.
You should review AI-generated content before using it for business, educational, legal, medical, financial, or other consequential purposes.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, uniqueness, or suitability of AI-generated outputs.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The App does not require you to create an account to use its core functionality.
Audio recording and real-time transcription are designed to be processed locally on your device. The AI Summary feature requires cloud-based processing and may transmit relevant content to third-party service providers.
Your use of cloud-based features is subject to the data processing practices described in our Privacy Policy.
Certain features may require a paid subscription or in-app purchase.
If you purchase a subscription through Apple's App Store:
Payment will be charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, subject to Apple's applicable terms.
Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Any applicable subscription price, billing period, free trial, introductory offer, and renewal terms will be presented at the time of purchase.
Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription.
Refund requests are subject to Apple's applicable policies and procedures.
Subscription availability and features are subject to the terms presented at the time of purchase.
The App, including its software, design, branding, interface, and original materials, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as permitted by law or expressly authorized by us, you may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App or its protected materials.
As between you and us, you retain any rights you hold in your recordings, transcripts, and other content you create or provide, subject to applicable law and third-party rights.
You authorize the processing of relevant content to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the features you choose to use, including cloud-based AI summaries.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not infringe the rights of others.
The App relies on Apple for applicable in-app purchase and subscription services and may use third-party AI processing services to provide cloud-based summaries.
Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not control the independent operation of third-party services and cannot guarantee their uninterrupted availability, performance, or compatibility.
Our handling of content processed by third parties is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for operational, technical, security, legal, or product-related reasons.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App or compatibility with every device, operating system, audio format, or language.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be made available through the App or another appropriate channel, together with a revised effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure in every circumstance, or suitable for every particular purpose.
Any warranties that cannot legally be excluded or limited remain unaffected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business opportunities, goodwill, or data arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for claims arising from the App or these Terms will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the App during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You may stop using the App at any time.
We may suspend or restrict access to the App where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security risks, violations of these Terms, or legal obligations.
Termination does not automatically delete recordings or other content saved on your device, nor does it automatically cancel an active subscription.
Any applicable rights concerning personal information and deletion requests are described in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are subject to applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections available in your jurisdiction.
Where a specific governing law is required to be identified, the applicable jurisdiction should be specified in the version of these Terms used for publication.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived or excluded.
