Breathing is part of prayer. The Word of God talks about His breath creating us and the world in numerous ways. God uses breathing to point out life, intimacy (being held by His breath), and learning to be silent and listen is part of our prayer. With addiction, struggling with impulsivity, cravings, and coping with stressful life events, and economic stress are a real part of staying sober. Self-regulation skills allow you to calm emotions, quiet your thinking, and engage in problem-solving.
