Francesco Rizzi Brignoli
Massimo Fichera is Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law at the Department of Foundations of Law at the University of Maastricht, with expertise in constitutional and legal theory, European constitutionalism, and the interplay between legal systems. He is also a member of the Maastricht Centre for Law and Jurisprudence. His latest book, The EU and Constitutional Time- The Significance of Time in Constitutional Change (Edward Elgar, 2023), explores the different facets of the notion of constitutional time and its relationship with the inherent fragility of liberal democracy. He has held research and teaching roles in institutions such as the University of Helsinki, University of Turku, and NYU. A qualified Italian barrister, he holds a PhD in Law from the University of Edinburgh.
Donald Bello Hutt holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Universities of Valladolid and Salamanca and a PhD in Political Theory from King’s College London. He is currently a Professor of moral and political philosophy at the University of Valladolid. His research focuses on the intersection of modern and contemporary political philosophy, legal theory, and constitutionalism. Donald has taught at the Universities of Bologna, KU Leuven, and Austral de Chile, and is a thesis advisor at the CEPC in Madrid. His interests include democratic theory (especially deliberative democracy), constitutionalism, political liberty, the rule of law, and the history of modern and contemporary political thought.
Francesco Rizzi Brignoli is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Bologna’s Department of Law. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the same institution in 2022. His research focuses on constitutionalism, deliberative democracy, and the intersection of political and legal theory. He has been involved in editorial work, academic event organization, and research projects. Francesco has published on European constitutionalism and deliberative democracy and has presented at numerous international conferences. His work aims to develop a multidisciplinary perspective on constitutional theory, engaging with contemporary challenges in law and politics.
