This Privacy Policy describes how ReClaim ("the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use the application.
ReClaim is a personal expense and reimbursement tracking app that helps you scan bills and receipts, automatically extract details using AI, and organize your expenses.
When you capture or select a bill/receipt image (via camera, gallery, or PDF), the App processes that image to extract details such as vendor name, amount, invoice number, and date. This processing is done using Google's Gemini AI model, accessed through Firebase AI Logic. The image is sent to Google's servers for this extraction and is not permanently retained by Google beyond what is necessary to process the request, in accordance with Google's own data handling terms for this API.
Information you enter or that is extracted from your bills — including vendor names, amounts, dates, invoice numbers, expense categories, client/project labels, and payment method — is stored locally on your device only, in the App's local database. We do not operate a server that stores or has access to this data, and it is not synced to any account or cloud service by default.
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to help us identify and fix bugs and understand general app usage (such as which features are used and how often crashes occur). This may include: device model, operating system version, app version, crash logs and stack traces, and general usage events. This data is associated with an anonymous installation identifier, not your name or identity.
The App uses Google Play Integrity API and Firebase App Check to verify that requests to our backend services (such as the AI extraction feature) come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App. This process does not collect personal information about you; it verifies the app and device integrity, not your identity.
We use the information described above to:
Provide the core functionality of the App (bill scanning, data extraction, expense tracking)
Diagnose and fix technical problems
Understand feature usage to improve the App
We do not:
Sell your data to third parties
Share your bill or expense data with other users
Use your data for advertising
Display third-party ads within the App
Your bills, receipts, and expense records are stored locally on your device using the App's local database. This data remains on your device until you delete individual entries, export/clear your data, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this locally stored data, as it is not backed up to any server we control.
If you export data (e.g., as a CSV or ZIP file) using the App's export feature, that exported file is saved to your device's storage or shared through a method you choose, and is subject to the privacy practices of wherever you send or store it.
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Google Firebase (Firebase AI Logic, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics) — Google Privacy Policy
Google Gemini API (via Firebase AI Logic, for bill/receipt data extraction) — subject to Google's applicable AI/API terms
Camera — to photograph bills and receipts directly within the App
Photos/Storage — to select existing bill images or PDF files from your device, and to save exported files
These permissions are used solely for the purposes described above and are not used to access unrelated content on your device.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Since your expense data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by removing individual entries within the App or by uninstalling the App entirely. If you would like to request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with your device (Crashlytics/Analytics), please contact us using the details below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
