Pantry Cooking (“the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our iOS application.
Recipes and Ingredients (On-Device Storage)
Recipes you create or generate in the App are stored locally on your device and never leave your device.
AI Requests
When you request a recipe suggestion or recipe generation, your request is sent to our secure proxy (hosted by Vercel), which then forwards the request to OpenAI’s ChatGPT API and returns the response to your device.
We do not store these requests or responses.
Ingredient Contributions (Optional)
The App contains a static list of ingredients.
If you choose to enable the “Improve Ingredient List” feature, ingredients you add that are not in the static list may be sent to our Supabase database (hosted on AWS). This is used only to improve and expand the ingredient list for future app updates.
Usage Limits and UUID
To enforce daily generation limits for free users, the App generates a random UUID the first time you launch it. This UUID is stored securely in your device’s Keychain.
This UUID is used only to track your daily usage limit. It is not shared with third parties, not linked to your personal identity, and never used for advertising or tracking purposes.
Subscription Data
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat may collect purchase receipts and related data as required by Apple to provide subscription functionality.
We do not receive or store your payment information directly. Payments are processed securely through Apple’s App Store.
Supabase Database Usage
For users without an active subscription, we store the following in our Supabase database:
UUID (to identify your usage row)
Daily count of generations (an integer)
Date of last reset
Individual recipe requests are not stored.
We use the limited information we collect strictly for:
Providing AI recipe generation functionality.
Enforcing daily generation limits for free users.
Improving the ingredient list (only if you opt in).
Managing subscriptions.
We do not use your information for advertising, tracking across apps or websites, or selling data to third parties.
We only share data with:
OpenAI (via API): To process your recipe requests.
RevenueCat: To manage subscriptions.
Supabase (AWS): To store anonymous usage limits and optional ingredient contributions.
We do not share data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
Recipes remain local on your device.
UUIDs are stored securely in the iOS Keychain.
Supabase and Vercel use industry-standard security practices.
We implement measures to protect data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
You can disable ingredient contributions at any time (no ingredients will be sent to our database).
The data stored in our Supabase database (UUID, daily count, reset date) is anonymous and cannot be linked to your identity. If you would like to stop using the App and its associated data, you can simply uninstall the App. No personally identifiable information is stored.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be reflected in the App or this page.
