Recipe Keeper ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application ("App").
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our App. AdMob may collect and use the following information:
Advertising ID: A unique identifier used for advertising purposes
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
Location Data: General location information (if you grant location permissions)
App Activity: Information about how you interact with ads
This data is used to show you relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. You can opt-out of personalized ads in your device's settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization).

The following data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:
Recipes you save or create
Shopping lists
Inventory items
Meal plans
Favorites and preferences
App settings (measurement system preferences, etc.)
Visited domains and recipe discovery history
This data remains on your device and is only accessible to you. If you uninstall the App, this data will be deleted.
When you add a recipe from a URL, we fetch the recipe data from that website to display it in the App. We do not store the URLs you visit or share them with third parties. Recipe data is cached locally on your device for offline access.
If you use optional features, the following may apply:
Barcode Scanning: Scans are processed locally. Product information may be fetched from Open Food Facts (public database).
Receipt Scanning: Images are processed locally using on-device text recognition. Images are not stored or transmitted.
Camera/Photos: Only accessed with your permission for barcode/receipt scanning. Images are processed locally and not stored.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and improve our App services
Display relevant advertisements through AdMob
Respond to your inquiries and provide support
We share information with the following third parties:
Google AdMob: For advertising services. AdMob may use collected data for ad personalization and measurement. See Google's Privacy Policy for more information.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your locally stored data (recipes, shopping lists, etc.) with anyone.
You have the right to:
Opt-out of Personalized Ads: You can opt-out in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization)
Reset Advertising ID: You can reset your advertising ID at any time in your device settings
Delete App Data: Uninstall the App to delete all locally stored data
Access Your Data: All data is stored locally on your device and accessible through the App
Contact Us: Request information about data we collect or exercise your rights
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. All app data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
Our App may contain links to external websites (recipe sources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any website you visit.
