# Receptappen Privacy Policy

## Overview
Receptappen is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your recipes and all data stay on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers.
## Data We DO NOT Collect
- **No personal information transmitted** - Your data stays on your device
- **No analytics or usage tracking** - We don't monitor how you use the app
- **No advertising identifiers** - No ads, no tracking
- **No cloud storage** - Your records are never uploaded anywhere
- **No account required** - Completely anonymous usage
## Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Receptappen stores the following information **only on your device**:
- **Recipes** - Title, ingredients, cooking instructions, cooking time, servings
- **Recipe images** - Photos attached to your recipes
- **Weekly menu** - Your planned weekly menu with meals
- **Shopping list** - Items added manually or from recipes
- **App preferences** - Settings and preferences
### Encryption (Premium Feature)
Premium users can create encrypted backups using:
- **Encryption algorithm:** AES-256-GCM
- **Key derivation:** PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations
- **Salt size:** 128 bits
- **Authentication tag:** 128 bits
Encrypted backups are saved as `.receptbak` files and protected by your own password.
## Network Activity
Receptappen operates fully offline with the following exceptions:
- **Google Play Billing** - If you choose to purchase premium features, the payment is handled by Google Play. We do not have access to your payment details. See [Google's Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) for more information.
- **OCR Image Analysis (ML Kit)** - When importing recipes by adding images, Google ML Kit is used for text recognition. All image analysis is performed **locally on your device** - no images are sent to external servers.
- **Recipe import from URLs** - When you share a link from another app (e.g. Instagram), the app fetches recipe data from that website. No personal information is sent in this request.
## Your Rights and Controls
You have full control over your data:
- **Export** - Export all your recipes and data as a JSON file anytime via Settings
- **Encrypted backup** - Create password-protected backups (premium feature)
- **Delete** - Uninstalling the app permanently removes all data
- **No account** - Nothing to cancel or close
- **Portability** - Export and backup files can be restored on any device
## Data Security
We implement multiple layers of security:
1. **Local storage** - All data stored on your device, never in the cloud
2. **No transmission** - Personal data is never sent to external servers
3. **Password-protected backups** - Encrypted backup files require your password (premium)
4. **On-device image processing** - OCR analysis runs locally via ML Kit
## Children's Privacy
Receptappen does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for adults who want to organize their recipes.
## Third-Party Services
Receptappen uses the following third-party services:
