1. Introduction
Receiptify ("the App") is developed to help users capture, organize, and manage their receipts. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles data, including camera access and any information processed through the App. By using Receiptify, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Camera & Photo Access
The App requires camera permission to allow users to take photos of receipts. Photos are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.
3. Photo Storage
All receipt photos are stored locally on your device only. You have full control to delete or manage your photos at any time within the App.
4. AI-Powered Receipt Scanning (OCR)
Receiptify includes an optional AI feature that automatically reads receipt text and prefills the total amount and date. Here is exactly how it works:
Your device extracts text from the receipt image locally using on-device OCR
Only the extracted text (not the photo) is sent to our Firebase Cloud Function
The Firebase Function sends the text to OpenAI's API to identify the total and date
The result is returned to your app and the function immediately discards the text — nothing is stored on our servers
OpenAI does not retain API data beyond 30 days and does not use it for training
This feature activates automatically when you capture a receipt. No images ever leave your device.
5. Firebase Services
Receiptify uses Firebase Cloud Functions solely to process OCR text as described above. Firebase may also automatically collect basic device and performance data handled under Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. No Account Required
Receiptify does not require users to sign up, log in, or create an account. No personal information such as name, email, or location is collected.

We do not sell your data. We do not share data with advertisers.
8. Data Deletion
All receipt data is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual receipts or entire categories directly within the App at any time. For any questions about data processed through our AI feature, contact us at receiptify.contact@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Receiptify is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
