Receipt: AI Offline Scanner(“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a privacy-first receipt scanner and financial assistant. Your privacy is a core principle of Recep. This policy explains what data is collected, how it’s used, and how it’s protected.

1. Data We Collect

Data You Provide

• Receipt images you scan
  
  

• Extracted receipt data (merchant, date, totals, line items)
  
  

• Manually edited transaction details
  
  

All receipt data is stored locally on your device by default.

Optional Cloud Processing

If you enable Online AI Mode, receipt images may be securely sent to third-party AI providers only for processing, then discarded.

Used providers may include:

• Google Gemini
  
  

• Groq (Llama models)
  
  

We do not store your receipt images or extracted data on our servers.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Recep does not collect:

• Personal identity information (name, email, address)
  
  

• Payment card or bank information
  
  

• Location data
  
  

• Contacts or photos outside scanned receipts
  
  

• Advertising identifiers
  
  

• Analytics that track you across apps or websites
  
  

3. How Your Data Is Used

Your data is used only to:

• Scan and extract receipt information
  
  

• Categorize expenses
  
  

• Generate insights, charts, and reports
  
  

• Answer questions in the AI Assistant (fact-checked against your local database)
  
  

Recep never sells or shares your data for advertising or marketing.

4. On-Device Processing & Privacy

• Offline Mode uses local AI models running entirely on your device.
  
  

• No internet connection is required for scanning or analysis in Offline Mode.
  
  

• You control when cloud processing is used.
  
  

5. Data Storage & Security

• Receipt data is stored securely on your device.
  
  

• iOS system protections (sandboxing, encryption) are used.
  
  

• You may delete receipts or all app data at any time.
  
  

6. Exports

When you export data (CSV or PDF):

• Files are generated locally
  
  

• You choose where to save or share them
  
  

• Recep does not retain copies
  
  

7. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are managed through Apple’s App Store.
Recep does not access or store your payment information.

8. Children’s Privacy

Recep is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your Rights

You can:

• View all stored data inside the app
  
  

• Edit or delete receipts at any time
  
  

• Disable cloud AI processing
  
  

• Delete all app data by removing the app
  
  

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect improvements or legal requirements.
Changes will be posted within the app or App Store listing.
