Account data
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and basic profile information (such as name and email), as provided by those services.
Receipt data
Images of receipts you scan or import.
Extracted text and structured fields such as vendor, date, amount, tax, currency, category, notes, and client assignment.
Usage data
Basic analytics such as feature usage and error logs, in aggregate and without reading your receipt content.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
Provide core features: scanning, recognizing, storing, and exporting receipts.
Maintain your account and sync data between your devices.
Improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. On‑device OCR
The App uses Apple’s Vision framework to recognize text on your device. Receipt images are processed locally to extract text; no third‑party OCR provider receives your images for text recognition.
5. Storage and processors
Receipt images and structured data are stored with our backend provider (Appwrite) in the selected region.
Access is restricted to the app and necessary infrastructure services.
6. Data retention and deletion
You can delete individual receipts or clients at any time.
You can delete your account from the Settings screen; this will remove your account and associated receipts from our systems within a reasonable period.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data and to object to certain processing. You can contact us at smartappshelp@outlook.com to exercise these rights.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and may notify you in‑app about significant changes.
