You can do this! You don't need special skills or abilities to lead a Recapturing Godly Masculinity small group - just a willingness to facilitate discussion. Be a learner right along with each of the guys in your group.
Just facilitate. Let the Holy Spirit and the book do the teaching. Have guys commit to reading a chapter each week and coming to share how that chapter has impacted them. You just need to facilitate the discussion using the resources provided here.
The right size group. A group of 3 to 8 is ideal. If you have more than 10 guys in the group, consider breaking up into smaller groups for discussion.
Establish ground rules. It is important to establish several ground rules at the outset of the group. These include a commitment to:
a. attend regularly and read the chapter each week
b. keep information shared in the group confidential
c. be open, honest, and authentic
Focus on growth. Place an emphasis on identifying growth areas and taking the next right steps to get there. The greatest tragedy is for men to read the book, feel some conviction, and walk away the same.
