Reb Han surreptitiously installed his own painting on a wall within New York City's Museum of Modern Art, where it stayed on exhibit for 3 days, alongside pieces by Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, and Picasso. He is the first artist in history to have ever done this.
Thus, the 'art' was not just limited to the essence of the painting. The act of a guerrilla installation, the variety of potential interpretations of this act, the subsequent outrage, and other reactions were all integral parts of the overall artwork.
Bewildered museum officials discovered the new acquisition after it was on exhibit for 3 days, and immediately posted a security guard in front of it. The presence of security only served to draw more attention to the painting, at which point crowds gathered to view it.
After MOMA, Reb Han surreptitiously installed other pieces in London's Royal Academy of Art, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.
This inspired a string of 'copycat' incidents where other artists sneaked their own pieces into museums around the world.
Silent Parties (also known as Quiet Parties) are nightclub events where attendees are not allowed to speak. The only form of lingual communication is through handwritten notes. Thousands of people have attended Silent Parites in cities around the world, giving birth to additional low-volume phenomena, such as 'Silent Discos.'
Over a period of two years, Reb Han offered his friendship on a rent-by-the-hour basis. Clients of all ages and social backgrounds rented Reb to be their 'best friend.'
How would the people of New York City react to someone dressed in a biohazard protective suit, carrying strange objects and acting in unusual ways?
A corporate executive plays his role accordingly day by day in an office, yet, deep inside, his intuitive self knows that this is a form of living death. His inner-self struggles for recognition and freedom, as Businessman's outer-self struggles to maintain the role-playing that society expects from him. Occasionally, the 'egg cracks,' and businessman loses control, as in this video, created by Saeri Kiritani:
In order to prevent worldwide panic, this project has been suspended from public view.
