I am strongly committed to developing pedagogical strategies that attend to learning as it actually happens--through active, engaging, and flexible activities that demonstrate the links between anthropological concepts and the materiality of the world around us. My teaching is also rooted in an abolitionist pedagogy, meaning that I am committed to building classroom spaces that promote equity and refuse to reproduce the logics of carcerality that are often taken for granted both within and outside of our academic institutions. Finally, I am interested in developing strategies and systems for both my teaching and student supervision that center neurodivergent learning styles and needs. This allows for a more flexible and inclusive learning environment for everyone.
Students in need of supervision: please reach out at R.M.Ciribassi@uva.nl! I am always open to a conversation to see if this is the right fit.
Other educators: please feel free to borrow and share my syllabi and feel free to email for more materials or conversation.
