After receiving my Masters and Advanced Certificate in School Psychology from Brooklyn College in 1996, I worked in multiple Brooklyn Jewish schools as a school counselor with varied populations and ages. At the same time I developed my skills as a psychotherapist for adults, adolescents, and children, in agencies such as New Hope Guild Tikvah, and Counterforce, where I continue to work with clients in the family therapy program. I am also an adjunct professor of psychology at Touro University, School for Lifelong Education, where I have taught for the past 20 years. My courses include such topics as introductory psychology, child and adolescent development, family counseling, theories of personality, and the exceptional child. My work as a school counselor, individual and couples therapist, and teacher, has provided me with varied experience to understand the multifaceted needs of our community.
My therapy modality is eclectic and includes elements of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, attachment, inner child, and family systems theory. I will assess and evaluate the needs of the client and proceed with the treatment that is most appropriate and beneficial. I believe in forming a strong therapeutic bond built on trust and empathy. Please reach out today to begin your therapy journey, so that you can help yourself accomplish goals to lead a happier life.
