This script is a modern interpretation of the story Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmund Rostand. It follows the same story beats, but has updated language. It is written in rhyme to honor the original script, but has a more hip hop type of word flow. I showed this inspiration in hip hop and rap through a modern street style, based in Paris, and also leaned on high fashion and run way to showcase class.

This show takes place in New York City in the 1980s. It's a two person show that takes place over 1 night, so I had to be very deliberate in my costume choices. The colors are mainly cool tones, other then Frankie's statement robe, making it stand out.

The director of this production decided to place this show in the 1950s in the Italian Riviera. I used a controlled palette to help tell the story as the show progressed. The show starts in mourning, with darks and lights to show the two houses, but not many bright colors. As the story continues, more and more colors are added to the characters, until there is an 'explosion' of color for the happy end.

This show is the retelling of a story about white cis-gendered men portrayed by non-cis-gendered men and people of color. They started off in 4 colored boats, and I decided to match the colors on the costumes to the boat colors. I did this because, as this show goes on, the beginning 4 boats slowly become 2 boats, but the audience is able to better remember which boat each crew member came from with their colors. It was interesting to take the same basic clothing structure, but make each charter feel unique and like they were their own individual person. Also, on of the characters was missing an arm, but our actor was not!
