Pokémon in the Chaos Realm are very diverse, partly thanks to the instability of it's dimensional fabric. Influences from several different universes come change the appearance and behavior of it's inhabitants. This is especially seen in Dimensional Traits, which could never be seen in the wild.
For help rolling traits for Chaos Realm Pokémon, please consult the Trait Roller! Other steps of rolling will still have to be manually executed.
Natural Traits
Traits which are very commonly found in nature.
Coloured: These Pokémon retain their original markings, but can be any colors. Must however be the same amount of colors as in the original design, unless they have Variant.
Shiny: These Pokémon have sparkly, silky coats. They retain their original markings, but can be any colors. They can have more colors than their original design (i.e an Eevee with a red neck, orange tail tip, and yellow body).
Variant: These Pokémon have extra markings. They must fit the Pokémon’s color scheme (i.e a brown Eevee could have dark brown and white markings, but not red and blue). Markings must remain relatively simple.
Fancy: These Pokémon have extra markings. They can be any color and complexity, and can cover the whole body if desired. These markings may also be made to glow or sparkle. Can be obtained in the wild, or by breeding Variants together!
Hybrid: These Pokémon are hybrids of two to four different Pokémon.
Textured: Changes the Pokémon’s texture to something different. For example, a furred Pokémon might become scaled, a scaled Pokémon might become feathered, a feathered Pokémon might become furred…
Chimera: Half of these Pokemon's body is a different color.
Modified: These Pokémon are slightly different from their base counterparts, they may have shorter tails, different ears, longer legs, a third eye... These modifications are small enough for the Pokémon to still be recognizable as it's species, but still quite noticeable. These mutations may not add new limbs to a Pokémon, or change it's markings or colors. (Note that a pure Modified Pokémon would still have access to Coloured's range of colors).
Winged: These Pokémon have an extra set of wings somewhere on their body. Wings can be any type and color, and don't have to match other traits.
Alpha: These Pokémon are large and aggressive, with dull or reddish colors and glowing red eyes. They may have larger teeth and claws, and overall a spikier, more aggressive appearance.
Domestic: These Pokémon are small and friendly, with lighter, more vibrant colors. They often have pale blue or gray eyes and fluffy soft fur, with rounder features. Domestic Pokémon will often have flopped ears if they have ears, and a curled tail if they have a tail.
Oddball Traits
Uncommon traits, but not unheard of. You may find them in the wild, if you know where to look.
Slime: These Pokémon are made fully or partially out of a thick, gooey slime. The properties of the slime varies from individual to individual, and some Slimes can even be edible. They do not naturally have markings, but different sections of their bodies can have different colors. They may also sometimes have a bauble on top of their head, usually if they were born male.
Delta: These Pokémon have a different type than most other members of their species, and their appearance and moveset change accordingly.
Alien: These Pokémon are bright and neon-colored, and seem to have knowledge of the stars. They often have large eyes and feeler-like appendages, antennae, and heat pits. They can have any markings, but are usually mainly one color.
Mermaid: These Pokémon lack hind legs if their species normally has them. They are blue, purple or pink in coloration, often taking on a pearlescent sheen. Their lower bodies are replaced by the lower bodies of aquatic creatures, and they may also have fins on their bodies.
Insectoid: These Pokémon take on the appearance of insects. They are often smaller than average, and their body parts are altered to look more bug-like. Feathered and webbed wings will become butterfly or bee wings, tails will turn into thoraxes, legs will gain segments, mouths will turn into mandibles, etc… These Pokémon will either take their colors and markings from their species, or from a real bug.
Artificial: These Pokémon are made of man-made materials, such as plastic, metal, fabric... They sometimes appear as toys or robots, but are very much alive. Some of them are even still flesh and blood inside! They can be any color and markings, though they often coincide with the type of material they are made of.
Seer: These Pokémon have extra limbs, tails, heads, and/or appendages. It is not uncommon for Seer Pokémon to also develop eye spots on their bodies.
Celestial Traits
While not found in nature, Celestial traits are born from the heavens of this world.
A Pokémon can only have one Angelic Trait at a time.
👼 Angelic: Angelic Pokémon, the most basic of the Angelic family, are white or light yellow-based Pokémon with a pair of feathered wings on their backs, fluffy fur, and a halo atop their head. They sometimes have a third eye, though that isn’t common. They may have any patterns, but rarely stray from their light appearance.
👼 Archangelic: Archangelic Pokémon are a slightly bigger version of Angelic Pokémon, with a slightly larger color range. They are the primary fighters amongst the Angelic family, which shows in their shimmering golden claws and fangs. Much like Angelics, they have one pair of feathered wings and a halo, though they may have more than three eyes. Their eyes are pure yellow, orange or white, with no iris or pupil. They sometimes have steel growths on their bodies and heads.
👼 Cherub: Cherub Pokémon are a small variation of Angelic Pokémon adorned with at least four petite wings and warm colors. Unlike many of their relatives, they do not have eyes or a mouth, but will often have their largest set of wings covering the area where their eyes should be. They also sometimes have multiple heads all connected through a halo, and communicate through telepathy.
👼 Seraph: Seraph Pokémon are a large, powerful variation of Angelic Pokémon. They often have light colors which reflect the sun’s rays, though some Seraphs have been known to be any color. They have several pairs of wings and are often covered in eyes and halos. They usually levitate off the ground, preferring not to land.
👼 Fallen: Fallen Pokémon are Angelics which were outcasted by their caste. They will have black, tattered wings, shattered or corrupted halos, and eyes which drip incessantly. Their appearance may be reminiscent of any of the angelic types, and may borrow features from any of them.
Demonic: Demonic Pokémon will generally be dark or reddish colors, with ribbed horns, one or several pairs of webbed wings, a barbed tail and/or a pair of hooves. They are not necessarily evil by nature, but their upbringing often makes them tougher and more mischievous.
Starchild: These glowing Pokémon are made of the energies of the sky itself, more specifically the night sky- And they have the sparkle to prove it! They can be any color, including dark ones down to black, but will usually have bright, starry eyes. It is said looking into a Starchild's eyes brings good luck, though it is also said they have psychic powers and can read minds. So it's anyone's guess. Parts of their body sometimes appear wispy or cloud-like.
Dimensional Traits
These traits are never found in the wild, and are byproducts of the Realm’s unstable nature. They come from different dimensions, warps, and distortions in the multiverse.
Wobble: These Pokémon are sweet, geometric and colorful, with square bodies and rounded features. Their proportions are often all out of whack, with overly long or short bodies, legs, and tails. Their patterns are quite limited without Variant: they can have rounded stripes, spots, patches, hearts, rosettes, arcade carpet markings. They usually have big, dumbfounded eyes, which come in different shapes and amounts.
Slug: These Pokémon are slimy and heavyset, with big, slug-like tails trailing behind them. Their paws/hands, if they have them, are especially nimble. Their features are rounded, and they have big, beady black eyes. Without other traits, they will be one single color with no markings, sometimes with a gradient or two.
Choco: These Pokémon have large, round beaks, talons, and big feathery fan-shaped tails. Their range of color is somewhat limited, as they can only be white, red, brown, yellow, green, blue or purple. They also tend to have very few markings, though colourfully tipped feathers are common. These Pokémon are usually very fast and tend to love races.
Chao: These Pokémon have tiny wings, and a round object floating above their heads. They can have any markings and colors, though they seem to depend on their disposition and skills...
Norn: These Pokémon have large flappy ears on the sides of their head, and often parts of their faces, bellies and limbs will be naked and/or skin-like, if they have fur. They may also have tufts of hair in places, and have tufted tails. They can look like any canonical Norn species. They may gain the Normal type.
Chaotic: These Pokémon have features from different animals and creatures, giving a patchwork look. They might have a bird leg, a lion tail, a serpentine body... They can have any colors and often have weird looking eyes and blood.
Metamorphic: These Pokémon have a few different forms, which can involve different colors, markings, and features. Metamorphic also covers markings that change with mood, changing eyes, etc…
Glitched: These pixelated, distorted Pokémon take on the appearance of computer glitches. They can have any colors and markings, though they are often a bit of an eyesore and their markings tend to be square shaped. They sometimes have robotic or bug-like features, but this is somewhat rare. Sometimes, they even seem a bit drippy, this is especially common around the eyes.
Void: These Pokémon are walking pieces of the void. They are completely pitch black, although they can appear somewhat tinted. They may or may not appear to have eyes, however their appearance is mainly that of a silhouette. Inside of their bodies, they have a deep, black core which can be seen in their shadow.
Eldritch: These Pokémon are powerful, chaotic beings from another realm. They will often have shifting forms, elements of body horror, masses of teeth and eyes, and even tentacles. Their colors are often darker and colder than a regular member of their species. They also gain the ??? Type.
