Really Hot Air Balloon Team is a small family owned hot air balloon ride and promotion business located in Zachary, LA. It was founded in June of 2018 as a first attempt to spread the sport of hot air ballooning and its wonderful views and experiences with as many people as possible. What started as a “will this work?” business has turned into almost a second full time job with multiple pilots and balloons. We specialize in both free flights, where you and the pilot take off and fly in a peaceful flight to a separate destination, as well as tethered balloon flights, where the balloon is “tied” to the ground and goes up and down several times in one place. Tethered operations are especially great for anything from a birthday party to a gender reveal.

Shawn and his wife, Patricia took delivery of Really!?!? in September of 2013, aftering purchasing it new as a custom design from Cameron Balloons. It was purchased to give Shawn a bigger balloon that was more suitable for providing flight lessons. Since then it has produced two pilots, Chad and Shawn's son, Colton and allowed Chad to get his Commercial license in it.

Stardancer which was originally owned by Philip Branstuder was later gifted by him to Shawn. Fun fact, Shawn was flying this balloon while competing in Longview, TX and won a $25,000 key grab. This is also the first balloon that Chad flew in.

Marilyn which was originally owned by Rick Ashby of Longview, TX and is currently owned by Chad and Shawnel, was the first balloon purchased by them. Although they bought the balloon used, Shawnel was very familiar with the balloon as she was frequently around it as a child due to Shawn and Rick being close friends. This made buying Marilyn a no brainer so to speak. After Rick's death the balloon made its way to Meridian, MS. which is where they purchased it from. A fun fact for Marilyn is that it was the first balloon built by Thunder & Colt in their Texas factory and is named after the seamstress who built it.

This balloon was originally owned by Tom Bolke who also resided in Zachary, LA. While he owned the balloon he called it The Flying Tiger. However, after his death Shawn purchased this balloon from his children in an attempt to keep it in the air. Once purchased he renamed the balloon R U Kidding Me!?!? to go with his "sarcastic response" balloon names. This is one of two primary balloons we use for paid balloon operations.

Morning Glory was purchased by Chad and Shawnel, from a flight school in Albuquerque, New Mexico to fill their need of a bigger balloon for commercial operations. The name Morning Glory was already picked out for their next balloon prior to purchasing this one. This balloon is the second primary balloon used for paid balloon operations.

This balloon was also originally owned by Tom Bolke and was named Wild Thing during that time. It was purchased at the same time as R U Kidding Me!?!? by Shawn. It was then renamed to Seriously!?!? to fit the same type of names as the rest of his balloons.
