These two look like they belong in the same conversation because both are wireless earbuds aimed at people who want more than a basic pair. But they solve opposite problems. One is built around being seen and staying open to the world. The other is built around shutting the world out and staying put on your head while you move. Pick the wrong one and you will be annoyed within a week — not because it is a bad product, but because it was designed for someone else. Let's sort out which one is for you.
• REAL YOUNG H700 — biggest strength: an open-ear design with a jewelry-inspired dragon wing silhouette, CNC-engraved texture, aluminum finish and dual-driver Qualcomm-based audio, at just 10.5 g per earbud.
• REAL YOUNG H700 — biggest trade-off: open-ear means you hear the world around you, so it will never isolate you the way an ANC earbud does, and its flexible ear hook suits daily wear and light workouts rather than aggressive training.
• Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit — biggest strength: Active Noise Cancelling with a Transparency mode, plus secure-fit wingtips and sweat/water resistance built specifically for intense exercise.
• Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit — biggest trade-off: it is a renewed unit rather than a new one, it is in-ear (so it plugs your ears), and the sheet gives no battery-life figure, so you are buying on noise cancelling and fit rather than on runtime promises.
• Choose REAL YOUNG H700 if you want an accessory-grade pair for commuting, coffee breaks, calls and yoga, and you want to stay aware of traffic, colleagues and your surroundings.
• Choose Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit if you want maximum focus in the gym or on a run and you don't mind buying renewed to get ANC and wingtip stability.
The H700 is unusual because it treats the earbud as a piece of jewelry. The design brief is explicit: a dragon wing silhouette, an elfin-inspired shape, CNC-engraved texture and a premium aluminum finish, in an Amethyst Purple that carries through to the purple charging case. The enclosure mixes ABS, aluminum, faux leather, polycarbonate, silicone and titanium, and the case itself is aluminum — so this is a product you are meant to leave on the table, not hide in a pocket. That styling is the whole point of the buy for a lot of people.
The open-ear format is the deciding factor. Because nothing seals your ear canal, you stay aware of traffic, announcements and people talking to you. For commuting, coffee breaks, office listening, yoga, walking and light workouts, that is a feature. For a noisy flight or a loud gym floor, it is a limitation — you will hear everything. The G-shaped ear hook follows the natural ear curve and the buds weigh only 10.5 g each, so the fit is designed for long, gentle wear rather than being clamped tight. Dual microphones with noise reduction handle calls, and touch controls keep the surface clean. It ships as a complete package with cable, eartip, charging case and manual, and carries a 1-year warranty.
Who should buy it: anyone who wants earbuds that look like an accessory, values staying aware of their surroundings, and listens in mixed environments — commuting, desk work, casual walks, yoga. It is also an easy gift for her, since the presentation and case do a lot of the work. Who should skip it: if you want to block out a noisy train or a loud gym, or you need earbuds that clamp down hard for sprint intervals, the open-ear design works against you.
Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit: Who It's For
The Powerbeats Fit is the opposite philosophy, and it is refreshingly single-minded about it. The headline feature is Active Noise Cancelling, which blocks outside sound so you can focus, paired with a Transparency mode for when you want your surroundings back. That one-two punch is exactly what you want in a gym, on a busy street, or on public transport where you would rather not hear the engine.
The second pillar is the fit. Secure-fit wingtips are designed to hold the earbud in place during intense workouts and active movement, and the earbuds are in-ear, so they physically seal and anchor rather than rest against your ear. That combination — wingtips plus in-ear seating plus ANC — is what makes this a training tool rather than a lifestyle accessory. The design is also explicitly workout-ready, with sweat and water resistance rated to survive demanding exercise sessions. In Jet Black, it looks like gym gear, not jewelry, and that is clearly the intent.
Connectivity is wireless and the package includes a MagSafe charging case, which is a nice touch if you already live in that ecosystem — the case snaps on rather than needing a cable. The earbuds are 32 ohm impedance and, per the sheet, weigh 16 ounces (that figure almost certainly refers to the shipping or packaged weight, not the buds themselves, so treat it as a logistics number rather than a wearing-comfort spec). The important caveat is in the name: this is a renewed unit, backed by a 365-day Renewed Premium warranty rather than a new-product warranty. Renewed means it is inspected and restored to work and look like new, but it is still a second-life product, and that matters to some buyers more than others.
Who should buy it: people whose earbuds live in a gym bag — lifters, runners, cyclists, anyone doing intense or sweaty sessions who wants noise cancelling and a fit that will not shift mid-set. Who should skip it: if you dislike the plugged-up feeling of in-ear buds, want to stay aware of your surroundings by default, or you would rather not buy renewed, this is not your pair. Note too that the sheet lists no battery-life figure, so if runtime is your top priority, that is a real gap in what you can verify.

• Best battery confidence → REAL YOUNG H700. Up to 40 hours of total playtime with a 2-hour charge time is spelled out; the Beats sheet gives no runtime figure.
• Best for intense workouts and sweat → Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit. Secure-fit wingtips and a workout-ready, sweat- and water-resistant build.

• Best for style, gifting and desk-to-dinner wear → REAL YOUNG H700. Jewelry-inspired aluminum build in Amethyst Purple, with a refined charging case.
• Best if you specifically want ANC and don't mind renewed → Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit. Just weigh the renewed status and its 365-day Renewed Premium warranty against your preference for new.
• Best for MagSafe users → Amazon Renewed Beats Powerbeats Fit. The included MagSafe charging case is a convenience if you are already in that ecosystem.
My Verdict
For intense, sweaty training, the Powerbeats Fit is the more purpose-built option, thanks to its secure-fit wingtips and workout-ready sweat and water resistance. The H700 is IPX7-rated and fine for yoga, walking and light workouts, but its open-ear hook is designed for comfort rather than locking down under hard movement.
Not in the isolating sense. The H700 uses Environmental Noise Cancellation, which is about cleaning up your voice on calls rather than blocking the world out — that is the point of its open-ear design. If you want to silence your surroundings, that is exactly what the Powerbeats Fit's Active Noise Cancelling is for.
Up to 40 hours of total playtime, with a 2-hour charge time, according to the specs. The Beats Powerbeats Fit sheet does not list a battery-life figure, so if runtime matters most to you, the H700 is the one with a verifiable number.
Renewed units are inspected and restored to work and look like new and come with a 365-day Renewed Premium warranty. If you are comfortable with a second-life product and want ANC plus wingtip stability, it can make sense — but if you prefer a brand-new item, the H700 is the straightforward choice.
