Real Football was a game series that was Very popular with Java phones, expecially Samsung, Nokia Siemens, Motorola and a whole other Java devices. I could never forget how it felt playing it as a teenager and so far it's been replaced with games like FIFA dream team PES and a whole lot of others enabled on Android devices. The best Java devices for playing Real Football was Nokia Java phones especially Express Music, The Nokia N and C series as well as Nokia 2700 which was actually one of the proudest Java phones that Nokia could boast of. Samsung had the ones we called the open and close (flipped flop) which were exceptionally good devices with awesome features. Without a doubt the FIFA 11 and real football were massive and if you played them way back you'd agree with me that gaming in the old days were awesome.

However the best of the real football series were Real Football 2011 and 12 and one most amazing feature that differentiated Real Football 2011 from 2012 was the way which the players moved. I did enjoy playing Real Football 2006 but the players were always entering each other and the referee had this funny way of moving, infact in the course of play the UI could freeze and you might have to restart your device in other to play again from the beginning of the match, but what made Real Football 2006 awesome was how the UI Seemed playing on Nokia N70 it was blistering. Another thing was that the snowy pitch was first introduced in Real Football 2006 and the colours of the grass seemed so blistering aside from that, the cheering from the players and waving of many country flag by the fans that were watching was amazing, there was also this flowers that were thrown on the pitch when a goal was scored and it made real football 2006 really a huge success.

In opposition, Real Football 2007 was really poor and of course the poorest from 2007 to 2009 and the interphase was terrible in my opinion it was a huge failure, it tried to bring in new development and of course mirror change but it ended up More badly than the developers of the game thought people were still playing Real Football 2006 even in 2011 that's to show you that the Real Football series of 2007 to 2009 was poor really. There was the Idealisms that went on these three years and in 2010 I still keep on playing Real Football 2006 although I was angry that I couldn't get the players I wanted I was stuck with the likes of Zidane in 2006 Real Football and when it was 2010 where I needed to use the like of Eto and Didier Drogba but the 2009 series that was poor had them. In my neighborhood you could never see anyone playing any Real Football except for 2006 even when we were in 2009 and 10. However 2010 ushered in relative success when it came to Real Football and it was amazing nonetheless really. So in the later part of 2011 we played Real Football 2010 and although real football 2011 wasn't so good as 2010 but the king of all was Real Football 2012.

After 2012 I stopped using Java phones it was a blistering experience using Java Phones but you might as well tell that one grew older and the need to take on responsibilities became really needful. I throughout 2013 to 2015 didn't game at all and I'm sure people stopped playing games on Java devices all together but in late or mid 2011 I'm not sure now, the best Real Football series in my opinion Real Football 2012 came out.

It had the best feature I've ever seen playing on Mobile. There was the chance for multiple players which sold the concept big time. There was also various stadiums Which you can pick from, jersey colors, socks and shoes were made available and all the players had Unique features just like the one they possess in real life. The idea of player buying became really popular and I think there was a maximum of 120 million given out to buy players and you could unlock more Money as you keep playing More tournaments as well.

I used Rafael Van Der Vart a lot his rating weren't so good but his curve shots got me many goals, Ibrahimovic was beast and when I bought him and Eto it was amazing for example if I used Eto in a 4-4-2 with the both of them upfront I mean Ibrahimovic and Eto, Ibrahimovic would score from headers when I played corners and also he would score brilliant overhead kicks while Eto dribbles and scores as well. The truth is that Steven Gerald was the most rated midfielder on Real Football 2012 and his shots from range brings you goals I had John Terry in Defence as well as Using Petr Cech in goal I bought Iker Casillas at one point really and at one time I bought Messi and Ronaldo as well. I had the best dream team and believe me I built the best team. I utilized multi players a lot and my goodness did enjoy Real Football? 2012 was the best on Java Phones.

Real Football is a mobile phone sports video game franchise with gameplay emulating football. The series is developed and published by Gameloft. The Real Football series started in the mid-2000s with Real Football 2004, which was free on some mobile phones. As of 2016, a new installment of the series has been published every year. The games feature both national teams and local clubs, and allow the player to play in various "real-life" cups. Real Football 2008 was the first in the series to be published on more than just mobile phones, as a Nintendo DS version was also produced. Real Football 2009 added an iOS version, and expanded the team lineup. Real Football 2012 added an Android version.[citation needed] Real Football 2018 was the last game in the series to be released on Java ME.

It always amazes me just how many ex-footballers manage to get into the management game. You could almost pick them out on the pitch during their career; it's never the flighty number 9 or the distant goalkeeper, but rather the bulldog in midfield or club stalwart in defence that turns out to have a penchant for coaching. Some of the biggest names in the management game at the moment - Fabio Capello, Mark Hughes, Roy Keane - have made their name on the pitch before retreating to the sidelines.

Conversely, it's very rare to find a football franchise that translates well both in terms of a straight footie titles and management simulators. Gameloft's Real Football, however, has successfully made that leap, with Real Football Manager 2009 incorporating the strengths of the standard football title into what is a comprehensive management sim.

But it's Real Football Manager 2009's ability to pair up this entirely fluid recreation of the game with manageable menus that really pushes it ahead of most of its rivals. That's because Gameloft has sectioned off general options - to do with the physical management and direction of your team -from match day and post match messages, where emails from your club's directors are delivered and you can also keep a track of income from tickets and offers for your players from rival clubs.

Simplicity of control is an ethos that runs throughout, and this is achieved not by cutting back the options or serving up a half-baked management sim, but by taking ideas already penned by football management titles on PC and translating them here. Buying new players, selling your own, and managing how you team gels are all dealt with here - nothing is left out.

Real Football Manager's only real disappointment is its lack of official teams and leagues, with the game only able to call on nondescript names such as Liverpool or Chelsea, substituting the likes of Everton with 'Merseyside' and Arsenal with 'London'. Recent transfers, such as Robinho's move to Man City, are also absent, meaning you'll start off playing with teams as they started on day one of the new season.

But when a few fudged names and late transfers are the only real sticks you can beat Real Football Manager 2009 with, you know you're onto a pretty good thing. It's unlikely mobile management sims will top their PC cousins any time soon, but Gameloft has made a good job of avoiding substituting quality in order to squash what is an expansive management sim into your phone. More importantly, its decision to tie in the Real Football 2009 engine gives its take on the game the added class it'll need to slip a fair few goals past its rivals.

About a year ago I tried to make a simple text-based football simulation program but I abandoned it and I want to start from the beginning since it wasn't really good. My problem is finding a good algorithm for calculating the scores.

You could refine the model by assigning the teams different standard deviations, which will reflect their "regularity". Again you can compute these on actual data to get an idea of realistic values (and check if using different values makes any sense).

The home advantage can be modelled as just a fixed increment of the goal potential. You can also measure actual home advantage by computing the two average goal-per-match of a given team, both when home or visitor, and taking the difference (this is a way to see if home advantage is real or just folklore).
