Read for Liberty PA is part of a larger effort to preserve intellectual freedom, protect First Amendment rights, and strengthen support for librarians across the nation. Our Helpline is a confidential reporting system for Pennsylvania library workers and communities experiencing censorship. We are volunteers trained to support school, public, and academic libraries as well as students and community members in defending intellectual freedom in PA. Read for Liberty PA is funded through a grant from ALA and managed through the PA AASL chapter.
